LUCIA Charity Life Uplifted By Change In Africa

In Febuary 2011, a film crew from Free Spirit Film & TV visited Ethiopia with the Women and Children's Charity, LUCIA (Life Uplifted by Change In Africa) to produce a promotional documentary highlighting the work the charity does and how it helps the people of Ethiopia.

 

LUCIA is a registered charity that believes that the key to positive change is to help the African people to help themselves via education and long term self sustainable development projects, in turn reducing reliance on international aid.

 

lucia 1Instead of simply giving repeated hand-outs of food or money, LUCIA works towards empowering African communities and individuals, so that they can become self sufficient and then go on to help others to do the same.

 

LUCIA does occasionally use a small amount of its money to fund emergency relief work, as we recognise that some communities will need this in order to reach the sustainable development phase.
