TV DIY star Tommy Walsh was set the challenge of a lifetime.

In a brand new series on Discovery Real Time 'Tommy Walsh’s Eco House' sees Tommy and his team, push their talents right to the edge, going beyond anything he has previously attempted on TV - to build an eco friendly house in 60 days for £60K!

Tommy and his team of talented designers and builders take on the challenge with determination and enthusiasm.

The series follows Tommy as he selects the building plot, secures planning approval and begins construction. Tommy and his Team were keen to construct an Eco-friendly Home using materials freely available to anyone in a new and innovative way. Over the course of ten weeks we follow the construction process and capture the events within the local community. Helping Tommy with this enormous project are his old trusted mates Willy and Tony as well as lots of other new characters.

The house is built in the most eco friendly, cost effective way and Tommy's enthusiasm and determination proves it can be done! 'Tommy Walsh’s Eco House' is guaranteed to entertain, influence and enthuse self builders and home owners alike, making eco-smart living the next step in building better affordable homes!

The project was produced by Free Spirit and Discovery to prove that affordable sustainable housing could be achieved. It was also important to develop a house that was aesthetically pleasing and had the potential to grow with a developing family.

The house, which has won the accolade of being the most energy efficient ever built in the Fenland District, is proposed as a blueprint for affordable energy efficient housing of the future.

The house, built in March, Cambridgeshire is proof to the building industry and self builders throughout the UK that it is possible to build high quality, environmentally friendly at a reasonable price.
