In this comical video clip from the series ‘Tommy Walsh’s Eco House’ Tommy’s mate Tony gets in to a bit of trouble when he decides to ‘repair’ a leaking tap washer on site.
But as often the case with Tony a simple job can turn out to be more than meets the eye - as if Tommy hasn’t got enough on his plate building and eco friendly house for 60K in 60 days!
Looking for the missing washer on a building site is like looking for a needle in a haystack but as always Tommy comes up with the perfect solution. Much to the bemusement of local onlookers, Tommy’s trusted plan is based on the techniques used by forensic experts at a crime scene! He enlists the help of everyone to search the area on their hands and knees in the hope of finding the elusive tap washer.
Finally Tony redeems himself by finding the washer only a few inches from the tap!
This makes a great sequence and provides some light relief to this particular episode. Free Spirit felt very strongly about including mistakes and setbacks like this as it creates a feeling of reality while entertaining the audience at the same time.
The series was shot documentary style with an observational feel that we feel created a feeling of spontaneity and authenticity. Very little was ‘Set Up’ during filming apart from key interviews which where necessary to chart the progress of the build. Tommy Walsh's Eco House is a 10 part series produced by Free Spirit and commissioned by Discovery Real Time Channel 271 (Sky channel 240). Due to popular demand, the series is regularly repeated.
